Google keyword research is more crucial than ever before, as Google adwords is now the world's #1 ad network.Google's content network covers over eighty percent of the globe.

With such reach, the competition grows by the minute. Google is making a killing.Over $4b in ppc income in 2007. My estimate is that more marketers lost money than they actually made.

Let's take a look at the major issues comfronting Pay Per Click

Finding the exact keywords you need: Its all about the keywords. If you dont have the right words that people are searching for then you won't be getting any hits on your ads. Or even worse, you will get hits and be charged for them, but the hits are from people looking for things other than your product.

It's a catch 22 situation.

You want the clicks, but you dont want every click. You only need 1 click from a buyer and that is worth all the clicks from non buyers. You really need to be careful that the keywords you use are the ones suited to searchers looking for your solutions.

It should be said, however, that the process of finding these keywords would take you hours of labor. And even worse, it might not pay off. Having spent all that time inresearch, now you will need to test them out. Wait! There are many stages to go. Having the keywords is great but now you need the right combination. it's essentially the same as taking a mathmatics exam where the right answer is 745.

You spent a lont time figuring out the answer, but if you wrote 765 or 657, you would be marked incorrect. There are no points for near misses. Its very similar in PPC. Searchers want more than just specific words. They are searching for specific words in a specific order & specific combination.

You need to be savy in order to attract the right customers. Therefore you need to test your keywords combination to discover which ones work best for you.

If that's not hard enough, there are other factors as well. That you need to find out what products your competition are promoting in combination with the landing pages and keywords & keyword combination that are making them a profit in order to make serious money.
