Back when I got my start in Internet Marketing the Overture Keyword Research tool was the best internet keyword suggestion tool that was free.

The Google Keyword Tool: Googles Keyword Tool is simple to use. Go to the Google Keyword Tool and add the keyword or phrase best people would enter when searching for your product/service. To generate the top keyword phrase fill out the "captha" form and click the Get Keywords Ideas button. The top searched keyword phrases for that specific keyword will be displayed, complete with the stats of the monthly search volume for each keyword. The amount of competition is included in the ketword results. Look for the green bar. The more green, the more competition.

Creating your Keyword list: Once you’ve queried the keyword tool, you can selectively add any or the entire keyword list to the right sidebar. When you've added all the keywords for your keyword list, select either text of csv file under Download these keywords.
